What Do Brownie Mix Cookies Taste Like?
The best way to describe what these chocolatey cookies taste like is to think of your favorite fudgy brownie but with a slightly crisp edge and soft, chewy center. These cookies have deep chocolate flavor, a crackly top, and the richness of a brownie in every bite.
Ingredients To Grab
Double check your pantry for the following ingredients before you get started to ensure an effortless experience in the kitchen every time:

- Brownie Mix– Serves as the base of the cookies, providing rich chocolate flavor, sweetness, and structure.
- Eggs– Help bind the ingredients together and contribute to the chewy texture of the cookies.
- Vegetable Oil– Adds moisture and ensures the cookies stay soft and fudgy.
- All-Purpose Flour– Helps thicken the dough, giving the cookies a sturdier, cookie-like texture rather than a gooey brownie consistency.
- Chocolate Chips– Enhance the chocolate flavor and add delicious, melty pockets of chocolate throughout the cookies.
How To Make Brownie Mix Cookies

Combine the ingredients. Pour the boxed brownie mix, eggs, vegetable oil, all purpose flour, and chocolate chips into a large mixing bowl. Carefully combine the ingredients until they are well incorporated, making sure not to overmix the batter.

Portion the cookies. Roll the brownie mix into individual cookie portions. They should be approximately two tablespoons each, or roughly the size of a golf ball. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, allowing 2-3″ between each cookie.

Bake, serve, and enjoy! Place the pan of cookie dough into an oven that is preheated to 375F. Allow the cookies to bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the dough is cooked through and the tops are crackled and flaky. Serve them with a big glass of milk and enjoy!
Tips And Tricks
Making brownie mix cookies is incredibly easy, but a few simple tricks can help you achieve the perfect texture and flavor. Follow these tips for the best results:
- Find the perfect consistency.
- Use parchment paper. Use parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking and achieve perfectly baked cookies.
- Allow them to cool. Allow cookies to rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. This helps them set properly without breaking.
Variations
Brownie mix cookies are incredibly versatile! Here are some fun and tasty variations to switch up the flavors and textures:
- Make them nutty. Stir in chopped pecans, walnuts, almonds, or hazelnuts for added crunch and texture.
- Add frosting. Use a can of premade frosting to coat the top of your cookies for a totally indulgent bite.
- Skip the chocolate chips. To make this recipe even more budget-friendly, omit the chocolate chips. They will be slightly less fudgy, but still delicious!
What To Enjoy With Brownie Mix Cookies
Brownie mix cookies are rich, chocolatey, and utterly delicious on their own, but pairing them with the right accompaniments can take your treat to the next level! Here are some delicious ways to enjoy them:
- Ice Cream– Make a brownie cookie sundae!
- Milk– Classic pairing for the ultimate treat.
- Fresh Berries– Chocolate and fruit make a delightful combo.
- Coffee or Hot Cocoa– Perfect for dunking!

How Long Do They Last?
Brownie mix cookies can last for about 4-5 days when stored in an airtight container at room temperature. To keep them fresh and chewy, store them in a cool, dry place.
If you’d like to extend their shelf life, you can refrigerate them for up to a week, but be sure to let them come to room temperature before serving for the best texture.
Can You Freeze Them?
For longer storage, brownie mix cookies can be frozen for up to 3 months in a freezer-safe bag or container. When ready to enjoy, simply thaw them at room temperature or warm them slightly in the microwave for a fresh-from-the-oven taste.

Thank you for sharing your recipe. These cookies are so easy to make and taste delicious! I will make these again real soon. Next time I will add nuts and double the recipe.
Made 3 times always good
These look delicious!
Have you tried making the cookie balls and freezing them raw – – then baking a few fresh as needed?
I do this with chocolate chip cookies and then either bake or air fry when we want a hot baked cookie. It works great for those.
Since our kids are grown we don’t need a full batch at a time, and we prefer them fresh baked rather than baking then freezing.
I might have to give it a try!
I haven’t tried it that way. My kiddos are a bunch of cookie monsters. If you try, let me know! It would be a great way to prep for the holidays!
