Chicken Alfredo Lasagna Rolls take all of the best parts of Chicken Alfredo and Lasagna and roll them all into one delicious dish! Creamy, cheesy, and absolutely decadent, your family is guaranteed to fall in love with this super simple pasta dish.
It’s quick to make. A pasta dish that the whole family loves and is quick enough to be made on a busy weeknight? It’s not too good to be true!
Assembly is super easy. Cook the pasta, cover one side with the simple-to-make filling, roll it up like a pinwheel, cover it with sauce, and bake. Just a few simple steps to the perfect comfort cook.
It tastes over-the-top delicious. This recipe combines all of the best parts of two of our favorite dishes–chicken alfredo and lasagna! What could be better than that?
You can customize it. Use one of my variations below to customize these Chicken Alfredo Rolls to perfectly fit your palate.
Dried Pasta, precooked rotisserie chicken, and lots and lots of cheese come together to create an unforgettable dish that isn’t for the faint of heart (or lactose intolerant). Here’s what you’ll need to get started:
Lasagna Noodles- Traditional dried lasagna noodles will be what you want for this recipe. Oven-ready lasagna is great for making traditional lasagna quicker, but it will not work for this dish.
Rotisserie Chicken- There’s nothing better for a busy weeknight than a rotisserie chicken. It’s precooked, seasoned to perfection, and saves loads of time.
Ricotta Cheese- This is the bulk of the filling for the roll ups. It’s creamy, delicious, and mild enough not to overpower the other ingredients.
Heavy Cream- Used to make the homemade alfredo sauce.
Mozzarella Cheese- Creates the perfect cheese pull in each tasty bite.
Parmesan Cheese- Provides a salty earthiness to the homemade alfredo sauce.
Butter- Makes this deconstructed alfredo lasagna totally decadent and will keep you craving more.
Egg- Works as a binder to hold together the lasagna roll filling so it doesn’t all ooze out while baking.
Garlic– Minced garlic in oil gives the most pungent garlic flavor without doing all of the work of chopping while throwing together a quick meal.
Salt & Pepper
Cook the noodles. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and place the dried pasta inside. Allow it to boil for 8-10 minutes or until it is pliable, but not overcooked. If you boil it too long it will become fragile and difficult to work with.
Prepare the filling. While the pasta is cooking, mix together the ricotta cheese, egg, half of the parmesan cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, rotisserie chicken, and seasonings.
Make the sauce. In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat and add in the minced garlic. Add the heavy cream until it is incorporated with the melted butter. Slowly add the parmesan cheese a little at a time and allow it to melt. Adding the cheese too quickly will cause it to clump. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Allow the sauce to simmer for 3-5 minutes until it begins to thicken.
Roll it up. Once the pasta is cooked, lay it flat on a plate or cutting board and allow it to cool until it is comfortable to touch. Use a spoon to spread a thin layer of the filling along the entire length of the pasta. Working lengthwise, gently roll the Chicken Alfredo Lasagna Rolls until they form a pinwheel.
Cover and bake. Place a small amount of homemade sauce in the bottom of a casserole dish. Place the Chicken Alfredo Lasagna Rolls seam down in the casserole dish so they do not come unrolled while cooking. Add the remaining sauce over the top of the lasagna rolls. Cover with the remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese and bake at 375F for 10-15 minutes or until the sauce is bubbly and the cheese on top of the pasta is melted.
Serve and enjoy! Serve with your favorite side dishes and enjoy a family-friendly comfort meal.
One of the things I love so much about this recipe is how versatile it is. You can use whatever ingredients you have to fill these lasagna roll ups and they still come together to make a delicious bite.
Here are some of my favorite ways to switch up the flavors:
Use premade sauce. The idea of making a homemade sauce on a busy weeknight might be a little more than you have time, energy, or patience for. If this is the case, there’s no shame in buying a jar of premade alfredo sauce. If you choose this alternative, just open the jar and pour it over the top of the filled lasagna rolls and bake according to the instructions provided.
Make it marinara instead of alfredo. We all love a delicious Chicken Parmesan, right? Grab your favorite jar of marinara or spaghetti sauce and pour it over the filled lasagna rollups instead of using a cream-based sauce. It will have the same flavor profile as chicken parmesan, but without the crispy texture.
Add veggies. If you want to boost the nutritional value of this recipe, feel free to add in veggies. While you’re creating the filling, stir in some chopped broccoli florets or baby spinach before covering it with sauce and baking. The rich flavors of the cream sauce can easily overpower the flavors of vegetables, so if you have a picky eater you’re cooking for, this is a great way to sneak some in.
Swap out the chicken. Not a fan of chicken or don’t have any in your fridge? No problem! Precooked bacon, precooked ground beef, or cubed ham are all tasty alternatives in this dish. As long as the protein is pre-cooked, you can use it in this dish.
If you’re looking for a vegetarian option, simply omit the rotisserie chicken and this becomes total vegetarian comfort food.
Not sure what to serve alongside these lasagna rolls? Anything that you would serve with any other pasta dish pairs perfectly with this chicken alfredo recipe. Here are a few of the most popular choices:
If stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator, you can expect these Chicken Alfredo Lasagna Rolls to last 3-4 days in the refrigerator.
To reheat them, you can either zap them in the microwave for about a minute, or you can bake them in the oven at 350F for 15 minutes. I will say that baking makes for a tastier bite, but if you’re packing leftovers for lunch, the microwave will work in a pinch.
When reheating, the butter does have a tendency to separate in the sauce. Give the sauce that is surrounding the lasagna rolls a gentle stir and it should incorporate. Once it is combined again, use a spoon to lightly cover the warmed pasta before serving.
