This recipe for Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars is a quick and easy pour and cook dessert! Made with pantry staples and minimal steps, this delicious dessert is perfect for beginner bakers and cookie lovers alike.
Whether you’re in the mood for something sweet, want an activity to get your kids some extra time in the kitchen, or are looking for a gift with a personal touch, these Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars are guaranteed to please.
These Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars are much thicker than a traditional chocolate chip cookie. Because of that, it’s difficult to cook them completely through without the outside of the bars being chewy and overcooked. It’s important to choose the correct pan size (9×13) for the ingredients to guarantee they are the proper thickness for baking.
It’s important to note that when the cookies are first pulled out of the oven, they will appear to still be raw in the middle. They will continue to cook through while they cool in the pan after the baking time is complete.
If the cookie bars still appear to be raw in the middle after allowing them to cool in the pan, you can place them back in the oven at 350F for an additional 3-5 minutes to allow them to finish baking.
When combined and baked, these ingredients create delicious chocolate chip cookie dough bars with a perfect balance of sweetness, richness, and chocolatey goodness.
Pour In Dry Ingredients. Pour the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Stir them until well combined.
Cream Butter And Sugar. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and both varieties of sugar for 3-5 minutes until soft and fluffy.
Mix Together Wet Ingredients. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the creamed butter and sugar mixture and stir well.
Combine Wet And Dry Mixtures. Mix together the wet and dry ingredients until the texture is smooth and no lumps remain.
Sprinkle In Chocolate Chips. Add in the chocolate chips a small amount at a time to ensure they are evenly distributed through the cookie dough.
Pack In The Cookie Dough Batter. Spray a 9×13 baking pan with nonstick spray or line it with parchment paper. Use a spatula to firmly press the prepared Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bar batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle additional chocolate chips on top and press them into the dough.
Bake To Perfection. Bake the cookie bars at 350F for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and mostly cooked through.
Cool, Slice, And Serve! Remove the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bars from the oven and place the pan on a cooling rack. Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes. The residual heat will continue to cook the bars through. Slice them into perfect portions, serve, and enjoy!
This is one of the most simple desserts you can make that actually needs baked, but to ensure it comes out perfectly every time, read over these tips and tricks before getting started:
