Ingredients

For The Chicken
  • 1 1/2 pounds Chicken Breasts cut into 1" chunks
  • 2 cups Panko Breadcrumbs
  • 1 1/2 cups Cornstarch
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • Cooking Spray to coat the breaded chicken
For The Sauce
  • 3/4 cup Soy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Gochujang
  • 2 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 1 tbsp White Vinegar
  • Sesame Seeds to garnish

Method

  1. Prepare the chicken. Start by cutting the chicken breast into small bite-sized pieces. Try to keep the pieces similar in size so they cook evenly.
  2. Bread the chicken. Set up three bowls. Place cornstarch in the first bowl, beaten eggs in the second bowl, and panko breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, salt, and pepper in the third bowl. Dip each piece of chicken into the cornstarch, then the egg, and finally coat it in the breadcrumb mixture.
  3. Air fry the chicken. Place the breaded chicken pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Spray lightly with cooking spray and cook at 400F for about 10 to 12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the chicken is crispy and fully cooked.
  4. Make the Korean-style sauce. In a small saucepan, combine gochujang, ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, and sesame oil. Heat the mixture over medium heat and stir until it becomes smooth and slightly thickened.
  5. Coat the chicken. Transfer the cooked chicken to a large bowl and pour the sauce over the top. Toss gently until all the pieces are evenly coated in the sticky glaze.
  6. Garnish and serve. Sprinkle sesame seeds and (optional) sliced green onions over the chicken before serving.
