Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Pork Shoulder chunked
  • 1 cup Orange Juice
  • 1/2 cup Lime Juice
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 2 tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 1 ounce Taco Seasoning

Method

  1. Slow cook to perfection. Place the seasoned pork in the slow cooker. Add the garlic, orange juice, lime juice, and taco seasoning. If you like the flavor of onion, you can add in a diced onion at this step too. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 4 hours, until the pork is fall-apart tender and easy to shred.
  2. Shred and broil. Remove the pork and shred it with two forks. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and place a portion of the shredded pork into the hot pan. Use a spatula to move it around in the pan until the edges of the meat are crispy. Work in batches until all of the meat is crisped. Drizzle a little bit of the juice from the slow cooker on top of the crisped meat for flavor.
  3. Serve and enjoy! Add the carnitas to tacos, bowls, burritos, or nachos and finish with your favorite toppings.
